Harry Gebbie got his first
taste of the service station business in the late 1950s.
That's when he worked weekends at his father's Atlantic Station
in East Stroudsburg, PA (photos 1 and

he worked in Esso's equipment garage in Philadelphia. In
1959, Harry and Peggy jumped full-time into the business
when they opened an Atlantic Service Station right next door
to our current location.
Harry and Peggy wanted to own a business, rather than lease
one, so they moved about 100 feet to the east and started
Gebbie’s Esso in 1961 (photo

the business outgrew the original three bays. So in 1969,
after reviewing their options, they expanded the building
by adding three more bays on the right side of the building,
a larger office in the rear of the building, and a large
rear storage room (photo

Bays”, and the “Old Bays”! (Photo
